WHATS IN YOUR GOLF BAG

When you first start playing golf the equipment you need seems quite daunting and expensive. This is not the case. At Belton Woods all the equioment you need will be provided for you, both during the coaching sessions and junior clubnight. Alomg with our relaxed junir dress code it means there is no added caost to you getting involved with this wonderful game.

 

As you find that you love the game as much as many of us do, you might want to get some of your own equipment. These are some of the things that will be needed first, the essentials:

 

  • Set of clubs (maybe no more than 5 to start with)

  • Ball Markers ( a coin works well)

  • Golf Balls (Sufficient and the right type)

  • Tee pegs

  • Pitch Mark Repairer.

When you go out on the course for longer periods or attend coaching sessions the following are a good idea

​

  • Drink (Water or Sports Drink)

  • Snacks (High Carbohydrate/ Low Fat)

  • Scorecard

  • Hat (suitable for protection from seasonal weather

  • Sun cream

  • Marker Pen (Waterproof)

  • Pen or Pencil (Plus Spare)

When you start playing in more competitive golf both junior and adult competitons or representing the section in the different levels of team games the following are great additions

​

  • Current Rule Book

  • Course Planner (Or an Accurate Yardage Chart)

  • Gloves (Wet & Dry)

  • Towel

  • Umbrella

  • Waterproofs

  • Watch or Timekeeping Device

 

And if you’re really on the ball, you will also have:

 

  • Club Cleaner

  • Plastic Bags (To keep Gloves & Towel Dry)

  • Plasters

  • Sunglasses

 

And Finally:

 

Do not forget to put all your clubs in the bag. (But Not More Than 14!)
