HERO HANDSHAKE AWARD
ANDREW MULHALL
Junior Captain, Andrew Mulhall pictured receiving the Hero Handshake award supported by the Golf Foundation and England Golf. This was given to Andrew for his selfless support of the junior section both in playing and encouraging the other members but also for helping run some events in the absence of Junior Orgniser, Ken Claxon.
A fantastic achievement and all in the junior section are proud of Andrews award
GIRL POWER
Two of the junior girl members played in their first ladies competition during July. With the format being a Par/Bogey competition, Izzy Linsley stormed to a win with a great score of +4 and Abigail Scott finish 5th with a score of Level. Fantastic form both girls and shows the progress the juniors have made since golf restarted. It has to be noted how welcoming the ladies section were to the girls and how much they enjoyed seeing the girls join in. Well done to everyone concerned.
FAMILY SUCCESS AT NORWOOD PARK
It was a case of family success at the Norwood Park junior Open with the Team Scott winning individual prizes in their categories. Fantastic to see Belton Woods Juniors playing at other courses and doing so well.
JUNIOR OPEN SUCCESS FOR ABIGAIL
Belton Woods junior Abigail Scott has continued her fantastic run of form in recent weeks. First up was the Junior Open held at Belton Park GC.

Played over 36 holes, Abigail won with a score of Nett 2 under Par. Not only was this abis first 36 hole event but she also became the first girl to win this impressive trophy.
​
As a little side note, Abi has golf lessons at Belton Woods, with PGA Professional Iain Fulton who was the very first winner of this trophy way back in 1990.
Next up for Abi was the Lincolnshire Junior event, this time North of the County at Holme Hall GC.
​
Just the short sprint of an 18 hole competition this time which saw Abi shoot a nett 70 to win the Les Johnson Trophy by 4 shots ahead of 2nd place.

JUNIOR PRESENTATION EVENING
The 2021 Junior presentation evening was held on Saturday November 13th.
​
This well attended event celebrated the achievements of all the young golfers from throughout the season.
​
We were joined by the Club and Lady Captains who presented the many awards and trophies.
A Presentation was also made on the night by the Scott family to Junior Organiser Ken Claxon, recognising the work and commitment he shows for the junior section.
​
A trophy named after Ken will now be played for during the 2022 season and beyond.
