BELTON WOODS JUNIOR SECTION

I am delighted to be elected the junior captain of Belton Woods for 2021 and very happy to have Josh Buil as my vice-captain for the year. I would also like to thank Ken and Iain for giving me this fantastic opportunity and I will endeavour to match their commitment and hard work for the junior section.

 

I have been playing at Belton Woods Golf Club for 5 years now and the junior section has given me an excellent foundation in starting out in golf. Since I joined the club, I have reduced my handicap from 38 to 3.6, which is testament to the support and advice the junior section provides for junior golfers. Above all, I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the club activities, the varying formats of competitions and representing the club in team matches.

 

I have recently gone on to compete at a high junior amateur level, including representing the county team and playing in English schools and European qualifying competitions. I am currently studying my A levels at Lincoln Minster and alongside my studies I am part of an elite golf performance programme, which is run at Woodhall Spa National Performance Centre. After this year, I am looking to go to university to study sports and exercise science, aiming to further my knowledge within the sports industry.

 

My aim for my captain’s year is to help the section provide the best opportunities for all juniors to succeed and enjoy the game of golf, giving them the same foundations, I have had since I joined.
